B. Location Data (Background Tracking)
To provide our core mileage tracking service, FinaFold collects precise location data (GPS) from your mobile device.
- Background Usage: We collect this data even when the App is closed or not in use to automatically detect and log your business trips.
- Purpose: This data is used solely to calculate mileage for your records and expense reporting purposes.
- Control: You can enable or disable location tracking at any time via your device settings, though disabling it will prevent the App from tracking mileage automatically.
C. Financial Data (Bank Integration)
We use a secure third-party financial data provider to connect your bank accounts to FinaFold.
- Transactions: FinaFold imports transaction data (description, amount, date, category) to help you track business expenses.
- Security: FinaFold never sees or stores your bank login credentials. These are handled securely by our financial data provider.
D. Receipt Data (OCR Processing)
We use cloud-based Optical Character Recognition (OCR) to process receipt images.
- Extraction: When you upload a receipt, the image is sent to secure cloud servers where OCR identifies the vendor, total amount, and date.
- Storage: The extracted data and original images are stored securely on our cloud infrastructure.
E. Technical and Usage Data
- Device Information: We collect information about your mobile device, including hardware model, operating system version, unique device identifiers, and mobile network information.
- Log Data: We record details of your App usage, such as time of access, features viewed, and system crashes.
2. How We Use Your Information

- Provide, maintain, and improve the FinaFold platform.
- Calculate business mileage and generate PDF and CSV mileage and expense reports.
- Categorize expenses and track financial performance.
- Process subscriptions and manage billing via app stores.
- Send push notifications regarding trip detection or account updates.
- Analyze usage trends to enhance user experience.
- Comply with legal obligations and protect against fraudulent activity.
3. Data Sharing and Third Parties
We do not sell your personal data. We share information only with the service providers necessary to operate the App:

- Financial Data Provider: Securely accessing and importing bank transactions
- Cloud Processing: Receipt image storage and OCR text extraction
